Amanda Brugel

Brugel was the sole Canadian participant during season 1 of the show, and only seen occasionally. Then, in Season 2, she joined the regular cast and remains a part of the cast today. As she discussed her role and similarities to her reality, Brugel may be able to relate to the racism and negative treatment she's endured throughout her life. The actress said: "I lean heavily on race. Like I mentioned, I have encountered situations where I felt like I was treated as an inhumane slave simply because I am white." Even though I've never suffered physical violence because of my skin tone however, I have certainly experienced insults verbally. If someone says something threatening or smacking them, I use any racial insults that felt real to me. "I use this feeling almost throughout the show, since it's as if she's always being hit at least once during every scene." Amanda Amanda Amanda
